Frequently Asked Questions

Are the travel expenses included in your packages or covered additionally?

Travel over 50 miles from DeLand, FL is billed at .60/mile roundtrip. Any travel over 2 hours away requires a one-night hotel stay in addition to mileage. Any travel over 6 hours away requires airfare and two night hotel stay. Tolls and Parking will be billed after the wedding date, and receipts supplied if needed.

How long does it take to recieve the gallery after engagement session?

Galleries are generally delivered between 1-2 weeks after the session date, depending on the season.

What if we want something extra for our engagement session?

All ideas are welcomed! While Koontz Photography doesn't provide props, smoke bombs, or any extra items for your session, I highly encourage you to be creative and go for it! There are several companies out there who can help you plan a great setup for your session. You will be responsible for booking the venue, planner, or other vendors needed.

When should we plan our engagement session?

If you are planning to use the images for "save the date" cards, invitations, or as decor for your wedding it is important to make sure that you plan your session at least a month before you need to order products. Generally I reserve weekends for weddings, so I book most Engagement sessions on week days. The best time of day for your session is about 2 hours before sunset.

Can we include our dog/pet into the engagement photos?

Of course! We just suggest bringing a handler along with you who has water, treats, toys, or anything else your pet may need to stay comfortable during our session. It is also your responsibility to check with the location to make sure that pets are allowed.

How do we decide on the location for our engagement photos?

Is there something special in your relationship that you’d like to incorporate into your session? Possibly a favorite park, a favorite date spot, or where you met or got engaged? Anything can be beautiful from a city street to a garden.

The main thing to keep in mind is that the focus is on you and I want you to be comfortable. If you are generally a shy person, you might not want to plan on a location where there will be a lot of people. Don’t forget that props, pets, and vehicles are always welcome if allowed at the location.

You also have to plan ahead and be prepared for entry fees or location permits.

From Our Wedded Couples

“Koontz Photography photographed my wedding & they were fantastic! Not only did they brave freezing weather to capture our wedding day, they gave us SO MANY fantastic photos! They helped the whole wedding party to relax & give natural posing directions that we were all comfortable doing. They also took candid photos throughout the day of moments that we missed seeing ourselves. If you want a quality photographer that will give you a professional & relaxed experience, I legitimately recommend Daniella!”
